7th International Lake of the Woods Water Quality Forum |

When: March 10 - 11, 2010
Where: Rainy River Community College, International Falls, MN.
Overview: Professional symposium intended for researchers and resource managers working and/or interested in research and management activities related to the Lake of the Woods and Rainy River Basin. Sessions are planned focusing on the nutrient budget and water quality modeling for Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River and on recent paleolimnological studies.

This year’s Emerging Issue Session “Lake sediments as archives of long-term environmental change”, will feature keynote speakers:
- Dr. John P. Smol, Canada Research Chair in Environmental Change and Director of the Paleoecological Environmental Assessment and Research Laboratory (PEARL) at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario
- Dr. Daniel R. Engstrom, Director of the St. Croix Watershed Research Station and Adjunct Professor, Geology & Geophysics, and Water Resource Science - University of Minnesota.

Registration: New this year! Online registration and payment. $50 CDN OR pre-register by February 10 and pay only $40
- Online payment via credit card is preferred please. You may still pay by cheque or purchase order by completing the online registration and choosing the appropriate "Pay Later" option.
- Registration is free for students with a valid school ID. Select "Student Discount" in the Registration Type field and bring your student ID to the event.
- Registration includes refreshments and lunch on the 10th and 11th.
- Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the individual.
