Many have asked about the Forum dates: we're currently expecting to host the Forum March 11-12, 2026, but are just waiting on venue confirmation which we hopefully will have secured by the next newsletter.
In other news...
- This year's Ask an Expert webinar series is now underway. Following the Forum reminders below, you'll find the link to the first webinar recording - a conversation with Dr. Vince Palace from the IISD-Experimental Lakes Area, who joined Meg Mills on October 16 to talk about the research done at the ELA into the behaviour and impacts of diluted bitumen, the type of heavy crude oil produced in northern Alberta, on freshwater. You'll also see links to register for all the rest of the amazing webinars Meg's lined up for us this year, continuing with a session with Dr. Chelsea Rochman, focused on microplastics in freshwater, on October 28. We hope you enjoy these sessions and encourage you to please share them with your friends and colleagues!
- ICYMI: Our Executive Director, Teika Newton, was recently recognized as a 2026 Clean50 honouree. Follow the links here and below to read all about this recognition and what it means for LOWWSF!
